Happy Birthday Daniel!

Today is Daniel's birthday :)

Very early this morning (for me) I had to get up and make a pie for someone, and then I had to leave and go to MOPS. Daniel didn't have to go to work so he got to sleep in :) That's always nice to do on your birthday.

This afternoon he went and bought a new toy :) We've been in need of a lawn mower for some time. The one that we got for free just kept having more things go wrong with it and it was falling apart. Daniel found one on Craigslist for $200 and went and looked at it this afternoon.

He brought it home for $150!! It is a 1989 something or other and needed carburetor work. Which Daniel promptly fixed quickly and easily as soon as he got home! I haven't checked it out yet, but hopefully it will last us some time under Daniel's knowledgeable TLC. It came with some spare parts and the original owners manual.

For Daniel's birthday dinner, I made "Grandpa's Country Fried Dinner" - as it's known at Cracker Barrel anyway :) I'd gotten some cubed steak a couple weeks ago on markdown, and we made Country Fried Steak. And of course sausage gravy, biscuits and cornmeal muffins. And a salad to "water down" some of the cholesterol and carbs :P Ha ha. I made a peach cobbler for dessert... but we forgot to eat it!

We finished watching Anne of Green Gables this evening and I posted my Deals for the Week. I got a decent amount of stuff done today, but still didn't get everything on my list done. Tomorrow morning I have to mix up stuff for another order that a lady made Saturday afternoon. I think next time somebody wants to order so much on such short notice I'll charge them an extra fee. One of the pains, I guess.

Happy birthday, Honey!!

Sounds like a yummy birthday meal! I'm surprised you didn't use the steaks from your babysitting weekend (or have you already and I missed it on the menu?).

Sounds like Daniel had a good birthday! Sleeping in, buying a new toy (Andrew would NEVER call a lawnmower a toy. But, he's not a Bremner!)

Sally, nope, we didn't use the babysitting steaks - Daniel said that would be like making a fried chicken sandwich, you dont' want to eat around the bone.
