In Case You Thought I Was Perfect...

Look again. This is what faced me after a long afternoon in the kitchen and making supper. And of course right as I was getting finished with everything, I got slammed with a migraine and didn't want to clean it up.

What you see:
A sink full of dirty dishes, a counter full of dirty dishes and covered in flour and pie-dough-rolling-out mess, dirty pots stacked on each other on the stove (and a dirty bowl in one of the pots), a pot lid on top of a stack of cookbooks that doesn't belong there (the cookbooks or the pot lid), flour/sugar canisters out of place to make room for the rolling pin action....

What you don't see:
The fresh peach pie baking in the oven, alongside the stuffed peppers casserole for supper.

This post is dedicated to my sister Sally, just to reassure her that my place is not always clean and organized. But I'll take pictures anyway :) And some of the pictures that I take that it "looks" clean - well, maybe the mess was just shoved out of the way.

But those gleaming cupboards, that clean floor, the no-spiderwebs-or-dust look! Awwww, a few dirty dishes, that'll take all of....yeah, o.k., I'll be honest, if the kitchen ain't right, ain't nothin' right! At least in my house. Give me a clean kitchen, and I think I am in business, even the laundry isn't folded and there are toys ALL OVER the living room.

Glad to see your wings and halo are, well, wait, oh, yeah, you're a human being!

P.S. I see you can do a hot link! Good going there!

Woops - I forgot to mention that I spent a length of time Monday (the day before this post) on my hands and knees scrubbing dried-on lettuce, corn cutting splatter, peach juice splashes, dirt, cobwebs, bread crumbs, and all other things that wind up on the floor - off the floor. That is why it looks so "clean and sparkly". As for the gleaming cupboards - remember these ARE only 1 year old installed. I'm sure in time they will not gleam so much.

And yes - if my kitchen is clean, all is right in the world.

I love me a clean kitchen too, but I love seeing other people's real life mess even more!

So glad to see I'm not the only one ! I love a clean kitchen but sometimes life (6 kids and DH) gets in the way. Yesterday I went grocery shopping and only had time to put away the cold stuff. When I got home from nursery duty surprise! DH and kids had organized and put it all away. Hav'nt caught them scrubbing the floors yet but I can always dream. LOL.
