This Might Be Fun

I've been checking out this blog/site every once in a while, and I'm curiously wondering if it's something I want to do. I've often thought about trying Once A Month Cooking, and this really breaks it down and everything.

This link is for the May menu, and you do your shopping all through April and do your big cooking day at the end of April (and eat in May).

I think one drawback for me would be wanting to use at least some of my own recipes. Hmm, maybe I will just need to figure up my own OAMC menu, shopping list and prep-sheet :) I could still stockpile stuff when it's cheap (esp. meat, etc). I like their idea of shopping throughout the month for your ingredients so that you can get better prices/deals.

My wheels are turning.

That really is a neat idea. I did something similar right before Zander was born. I spent a few days cooking constantly but when he arrived, my freezer was full of meals we could just throw in the oven/microwave and enjoy. It helped big time while I was healing and adjusting to 2 kids. I'm planning on doing it again this time.

Let us know if you plan on doing and what menu you're going with please :) You always have great ideas!

Have you thought about that sometimes you might want fresh, first-time-cooked food? That's one thing that's held me back from doing even more freezer food than I have.
