Since Everyone Else Wants To Know

The nitty-gritty details about the changes happening with my body over these past couple weeks, I figured I'd just blog about it!

That way you'll all know and we won't have to go through the awkwardness of you asking and me feeling shy about telling you.

Here's the 411, the low-down, the way it is:

A lot of changes have to take place in a woman's body in order to have a baby, and my Doctor says everything is going just fine. How are you doing today?

Now you know that things are going just fine, and hopefully you figured out that I don't really want to broadcast the fine print to every person that I talk to.

And if you've not been through a pregnancy yet, or are going through your first one, take this as a gentle warning that you may very well get asked ALL KINDS of questions from people you normally wouldn't say any more than "hi" to. I had no idea how many people were concerned over the intimate details of my body. And I'd recommend to start thinking now how you're going to answer/handle/respond... because I'm figuring it out as I go. It's weird. Very weird. And awkward. And I never know (knew!) what to say so I always end up telling them what's really going on and then it's even more weird to know that Mrs. Jane Doe now knows what my c*rv*x was like last week at my Dr. appointment.

Ha, ha, ha; that was a good trick! I read the beginning and thought "What, are you out of your mind!" Mrs. Jane Doe is surely disappointed now!

It is so funny how people can be so nosy about personal things! I always get the "When are you going to have kids?" or the "Are you unable to have kids?" questions. It is usually from people who I didn't think even knew my name. So strange...I have never understood the boldness it must take to ask those kinds of questions.

Haha! Oh it's hard to keep modesty around everyone's questions. Be prepared though, you will get asked a lot about your labor & delivery too.

How exciting that you are nearing the end!!!

Hahahaha! I think with my next pregnancy I'll just print off this post and hand it to nosy people. ;-) Just kidding...but it's tempting.

Well, I guess you're in some new territory! I never got asked those questions, and I'm really glad. Either the people I was around didn't feel like asking (or they secretly looked at my medical records, which I doubt they did), or I just never got that far in the pregnancy for them to start asking. Who knows, but I don't feel slighted. Just tell folks you don't want to talk about it. And then ask them how they're doing, etc.

I'm such an open book. I figured if they were bold enough to ask, I was bold enough to fill them in on all the details. Sometimes they get more than they bargained for! LOL! Oh well, people should think before they speak. :) (maybe me too!)
